As leader of Haskell Water Division’s Eastern Region, Jason focuses on establishing relationships and delivering excellent client experiences through collaborative design-build and construction manager at-risk project delivery, architecture and engineering services. Jason served nearly 26 years in the United States Army, retiring as a Colonel in 2018. His last military duty was serving for 37 months as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Jacksonville District Commander, where he led an 850-person team executing a $500M-annual full-service engineering program. His team’s accomplishments included emergency response and recovery following hurricanes Maria in Puerto Rico and Irma in Florida and execution of the world’s largest aquatic ecosystem restoration project with the federal-state Everglades Restoration. Prior to leading USACE’s Jacksonville District, Jason led a unit training team at the Army’s National Training Center in California’s Mojave Desert; he earlier led the Charleston, South Carolina USACE District and served in multiple U.S.- and Germany-based operational Army units, deploying twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His water resource-specific project experience includes the multiple Everglades Restoration components, the Herbert Hoover Dike (Lake Okeechobee, Florida) Rehabilitation, multiple Puerto Rico flood-protection projects, the Lakes Marion and Moultrie South Carolina Water Infrastructure program and serving as senior project manager for the Louisiana Coastal Area restoration plan. EDUCATION Jason’s service as an Army engineer began after commissioning as a second lieutenant from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, where he majored in environmental engineering. He also earned master’s degrees from the Missouri University of Science & Technology (engineering management) and the University of Florida (environmental engineering). Jason’s military education and schools include graduation from the Army War College and the Command and General Staff Officers Course (distinguished), along with earning the Sapper Leader tab and the Parachutist badge. PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS Jason is a registered professional engineer in both Florida and Missouri. He a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, the Army Engineer Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers, Design-Build Institute of America, the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation. Among his military decorations, Jason has earned two Legion of Merit Medals, two Bronze Star Medals, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal and the Silver Order of the de Fleury Medal.
