Bio

Alexander Seile is the Assistant Vice President of Audit for Operations and Finance and joined the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in April 2022. Before joining the Federal Reserve Bank in April, Alex was responsible for leading an audit team of 20 auditors for Zurich North America, the US subsidiary of a globally operating Swiss commercial and life insurer, headquartered in Chicago, and New York with nationwide operations. He was also the Head of Audit for Zurich American Life Insurance Company since 2018. Alex is a German native and started his career in the financial services industry in 1998. He worked six years in client-facing retail and commercial banking roles, parallel to pursuing his Banking and Finance associate and college degrees. He was a strategic assistant to a CFO/CRO at Allianz before moving into Internal Audit in 2005. Since 2005, he held various audit and leadership roles at Commerzbank (former Dresdner Bank), Allianz, Prudential plc and Zurich Group and lived and worked in Germany, the SF Bay Area, Singapore, Switzerland, and Chicago. He also lived previously in Sydney, Australia, and Hong Kong, China. Alex has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, is an IIA Certified Internal Auditor, and holds an IIA accreditation in Quality Assessment. Additionally, he has an associate degree in Banking and Finance, is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt, a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, and an Associate in Regulation and Compliance.
