Bio

Eric Hanson is the Sr. Director of Manufacturing for Kite's Commercial Viral Vector manufacturing facility in Oceanside, CA. He has over 20 years of experience in regulated plant operations with 17 years in the biotech industry. Prior to joining the biotech industry, Eric served in multiple capacities as a nuclear trained submariner in the U.S. Navy. Since making the transition from military to the civilian sector, Eric has held a number of roles at Genentech, Gilead and now Kite. Eric has held leadership roles in different disciplines including Facilities and Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, Validation, Capital Expansion and Manufacturing. He has successfully led multiple plant startups, campus expansion efforts from 60,000 to over 400,000 square feet and commercial readiness efforts for manufacturing. Eric studied Nuclear Engineering Technology at Thomas Edison State College and holds an MBA from California State University, San Marcos.
