Lt. Tristan Edwards began his U.S. Navy career in July 2013 as a Sonar Technician in the Navy Reserve, specializing in underwater acoustics. He went on to earn his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University before commissioning as a Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer in the Navy’s elite Nuclear Program. In that role, he developed expertise in operational management, complex technical systems, and high-stakes decision-making. Today, Tristan serves as a Mechanical Supervisor at Nucor, where he leads teams of engineers and technicians in overseeing critical industrial operations, improving maintenance strategies, and achieving high-performance results. His leadership approach—rooted in the discipline and precision of the Navy—drives operational excellence and fosters the development of future leaders.
