Description:

The D2C Factory Planner position serves as the business manager for ALL product 

category(s)/Location(s) with their Merchant partner(s). This role is responsible for helping to define the product assortment, pre and in-season plans for Revenue, Margin and Inventory needs for Factory Store(s). Planner is responsible for establishing and executing product allocation strategies and in-store markdowns.  

 

The Planner will build a close partnership with Outlet Merchant to develop strategy, extract insights from data and correlate historical and current trends. This role works concurrently across multiple seasons (up to 18 months ahead), to identify inventory availability to support store needs that results in a strong customer experience while maintaining profitable business. The Planner will work closely with Marketing, Store Ops and Category Planners / Merchants to ensure strategies are aligned and executed to plan.

Responsibilities

Develop Pre-Season Plans (Bottoms Up Style/Material Revenue, Margin & Receipts plans) in partnership with Merchandising to meet the financial targets and ‘Go to Market’ (GTM) timelines.  Gain approval from D2C/Planning leadership, making adjustments as required 

Analyze ‘In-Season’ performance through the ‘Monthly Business Review’ (MBR) process to provide a robust understanding of past performance and get alignment on updated forward forecast, inventory, margin (in relation to Prior Forecast, Last Year, & Budget) 

Understand and manage projected closeout inventory to support assortment review and creation in partnership with Merchant(s). 

Provide quarterly updated versions of pre-Season plans as new information becomes available (monthly frequency once within 3 months of Season start) 

Analyze size selling performance in an effort to maximize inventory between full price, discounts, and clearance pricing buckets. Recommend movement within these categories to balance inventory turn and maintaining margin.   

Prepare hindsight analysis to identify opportunities for future plans and strategies partnering with Merchandiser(s) to disseminate key takeaways 

Execute replenishment orders to maintain healthy inventory levels across pricing buckets based on weekly sales.   

In partnership with Merchant, define and execute markdown strategies  

Establish cross-functional relationships to promote best practices and process adherence; fosters collaboration and teamwork. 

Participate and initiate additional projects as directed by Merchandise Planning Leadership, looking to improve reporting, process, and consumer experience. 

Education

Bachelor's Degree Required in Related Field

Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree

Required Skills and Experience

Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a planning or forecasting field. 

Analytical thinker with strong aptitude for Retail math and forecasting methodology. 

Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels including management and external partners  

Flexible and collaborative team player who thrives in environments requiring strong organizational skills to effectively prioritize workload, juggling multiple concurrent projects and deliverables. 

Self-motivated, passionate and enthusiastic individual ready to bring energy and excitement to lead their business 

Strong computer skills (MS Office and Planning tools) are needed, with advanced Excel  

Strong presentation skills and demonstrates the ability to speak to cross functional counter parts to clearly articulate financial plan / strategy
