Reporting to the Radiation Protection Services (RP-SVS) Group Leader and serving as a member of the RP-SVS management team, the Radiation Protection Services (RP-SVS) Deputy Group Leader is responsible for the technical leadership, strategic direction, oversight, and management of the RP-SVS Health Physics Measurements programs. These programs include approximately thirty employees who supply external and internal dosimetry services, bioassay monitoring, and radioactive sample analysis supporting the LANL Radiation Protection and Environmental Compliance Programs. As the Deputy Group Leader, you will develop and execute radiation protection programs, processes, training, and oversight to help ensure high standards of implementation of the LANL Radiation Protection Program using cost effective strategies. You will help develop and achieve RP Division organizational goals for programmatic, operational, and business excellence, as well as will implement the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Environment, Safety, Health, Quality, Safeguards and Security (ALDESHQSS) vision and mission. You will be responsible for strategic planning and tactical execution for functions within the programs, delivering high quality customer service, including maintaining effective relationships with principal stakeholders. You will ensure that the RP-SVS Group develops and maintains the capabilities necessary to support programmatic mission success, including responsibilities for recruiting, mentoring, and retaining qualified staff. Additionally, you will promote safety, security, and quality in all operations; exercise prudent fiscal responsibility and property management; promote teamwork within the organization and across the Laboratory; and promote a positive work environment and safety culture.
