Job Summary

The Sr. Quality Specialist (IV) is responsible for promoting quality excellence and execution across ALEUS to improve overall quality, productivity, cost, and customer satisfaction. He/she will lead multiple projects within the Quality Strategy and drive implementation of quality initiatives and continuous improvement to support ALEUS’s Quality Management System with a focus on creating more usable and simpler processes, reducing burden within our quality systems, improving effectiveness, and driving efficiency. The role is responsible for establishing and leading the Process Control Systems (PCS) program and maintaining strong collaborative partnerships with cross functional teams to track data, identify improvement projects and implementation to improve Key Performance Indicators. This job can be based in Morrisville, PA or Dallas, TX.


Responsibilities

Ensure ALEUS Quality Management System conforms to internal & external requirements

Lead and support complex projects and initiatives focused on improving ALEUS’s Quality Strategy and Management System

Coordinate investigation of quality issues with customers, and internal and external suppliers. 

Review, approve and communicate root cause and corrective action to stakeholders

Lead the Process Control Systems (PCS) program supporting ALEUS business, including, but not limited to:

Develop and maintain a robust statistical quality/process control (SQC/SPC) program.

Analyze, evaluate, and report on PCS and SQC/SPC data to improve performance, enhance quality processes/products, minimize cost, and to provide such credible, reliable, and robust data to other Air Liquide business areas and locations.

Drive the organization to the usage of common tools and methods to reach quicker, more transparent, data-based business decisions; influence across ALEUS functions and strategic customers to deliver agreed PCS objectives.

Support the commercial team in discussions and negotiations related to PCS, ensuring the right balance between meeting discerning customer expectations and ALEUS's operational priorities and capabilities.

Lead development of ALEUS’s policies and procedures related to PCS and SQC/SPC.

Support SQC/SPC software maintenance and improvement.

​Facilitates and supports the risk management program through the use of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) as a tool.

Lead  or support supplier quality management efforts for internal and critical external suppliers.

Perform extractions of data for problem solving & taking proactive actions.

Improve and promote quality practices and programs to develop a quality culture throughout ALEUS. Build and maintain successful process improvement initiatives in quality that are beneficial to ALEUS and its customers.

Participate in, lead, or support Six Sigma projects; provide technical and data-driven analyses to support process improvements.  Drive continuous improvement of core processes to ensure quality is maintained while efficiency is optimized

Support other related activities such as customer audits, complaint investigations, supplier quality issue review & response, and electronic Certificates of Analysis (eCoA) processes.

Support evaluation and ongoing performance management of internal and external suppliers

Train and provide assistance to less experienced members of the QA team on quality procedures, protocols, and documentation

Train personnel on quality procedures, protocols, and documentation

Drive safety, quality, and excellence in all aspects of work

Perform other duties as assigned by manager

Must be able to read electronic & hard-copy documents of varying typeface font and size

Must be able and willing to travel up to 10%-30%, domestic and international

 

Physical Requirements

Must be able to actively participate in on-site inspections, audits, and event investigations

Have a full range of motion, climb stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

Be able to wear PPE


Direct Reports

This is an individual contributor role and will not have any direct reports.  As a senior role, however, there will be opportunities to coach and mentor peers on a regular basis.


Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Statistics, Quality Management or technical field

10+ years in Quality Assurance/Statistics

Project Management certification or demonstrated experience (3+ years)

Professional Quality discipline certifications (CQM, CQE, or CQA) or demonstrated experience (3+ years)

Minimum 3 years of experience in Gas industry, semiconductor manufacturing, and/or production experience

Six Sigma - Black Belt or Green Belt Training preferred.


Qualifications:

Working knowledge of Quality tools/techniques such as root cause analysis, problem solving, corrective/preventive action, 8D, and Lean Six Sigma.

Working knowledge of statistics and Process Control System (PCS) topics such as Statistical Process/Quality Control (SPC/SQC). 

Working knowledge of data management and statistical software such as Minitab, North West Quality Analyst, Laboratory Management System, etc.

Working knowledge of instrument metrology/measurement systems analysis (MSA) elements such as IDL, MDL, GRR, accuracy, linearity, precision, matching & correlation, and LTS.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret a variety of technical information in mathematical and/or narrative form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to lead, coach, and mentor cross-functional teams to use of QA/QC fundamentals

Strong analysis, planning and implementation skills

Ability to lead indirect teams and work independently

Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and management skills

Ability to interact effectively and professionally at all levels of the organization

Strong presentation and communication skills targeting all types of audiences

Ability to influence across all levels of management

Practical change management experience with diverse user groups

Solid understanding of the product development and management lifecycle

General computer skills and including experience with the Google platform
