John Koenig is a Director and currently the lead for the Department of Health and Human Services headquarters. He has supported clients in the Department of Defense, Commercial Defense Clients, Military Medicine, the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, the Department of State, the General Services Administration, and Department of Transportation. John advises clients on a wide range of initiatives including enterprise wide strategy and strategy management, transformation, change management, operational optimization, audit sustainment, information assurance, data analytics, customer relations, and establishment of new capabilities like the National Intrepid Center of Excellence.
A retired Marine Corps Colonel, John commanded at every level from platoon though regiment. John is a graduate of, and former Head of, the Marine Corps School of Advanced Warfighting, and an alumnus of the Wharton Business School and the Marine Corps War College. John served as Assistant Chief of Staff for Governance, Economic Development, Reconstruction & Civil Affairs (G-5), Multinational Forces West, Al Anbar, Iraq where he led development of innovative strategies for those tasks as well as Tribal Engagement contributing to the stabilization of Al Anbar, Iraq in 2007. John also served as Chief of Policy for United Nations Command and Combined Forces Command, Seoul, Korea and in Programs and Resources, Headquarters Marine Corps. He has served on the Board of Directors and Editorial Board of the U.S. Naval Institute and currently volunteers on the Audit Committee of the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation. John is a Project Management Professional, a Certified Defense Financial Manager, and Certified Facilitator.
