Executive Vice President for Department of Defense Accounts
Scott “Dutch” Murray is Executive Vice President for Department of Defense Accounts at Babel Street, Inc., an industry leading Open Source & Publicly Available Information collection and analysis company. Prior to joining Babel Street in 2017, he served over 28 years in the United States Air Force as an intelligence officer where he graduated from the USAF Fighter Weapons School, commanded an intelligence squadron in Hawaii and served abroad in Korea, Germany, Qatar and Afghanistan as part of joint task force, combined, coalition and service commands. Of note, he deployed twice to lead all intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance planning and operations in Afghanistan in 2010 and 2012. He retired from active duty in 2015 in the rank of Colonel after leading all deliberate targeting efforts against ISIS as the Air Forces Central Command Director of Intelligence.
Dutch is an alumnus of the U.S. Air Force Academy (1987), the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (2002) and the USAF Air War College (2003). In 2000, he was the recipient of the National Military Intelligence Association’s Major General Jack E. Thomas Award presented annually to the Outstanding USAF Intelligence Professional. He holds graduate degrees from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (1997), and the USAF School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (2003). In 2006, he was selected as a National Security Affairs Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University.
Dutch is married to the former Jolande Caterine Diderich of Zuidhorn, The Netherlands. Their daughter, Christiane, is a 2014 graduate of the University of Chicago, a 2018 graduate from Michigan State School of Law and now a practicing attorney at Borkan & Scahill, Chicago, IL. Their son, First Lieutenant Peter Murray, is a 2017 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, now stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, as an Intelligence Officer at the 94th Fighter Squadron.
